Pink on the Cob is the 61st Episode in the Series Blake Edwards' Pink Panther
Story[]
Corn farmer Pinky goes to war with a pair of crows stealing his corn.
Plot[]
The episode opens with Pink opening a corn stand, when he goes to collect some corncobs, he notices several eaten cobs, upon checking the cornfield, he finds out that two crows are eating his corn. Pink shoos the crows away and puts a scarecrow near the cornfield before going back to his stand.
After collecting some cobs, Pink awaits for costumers, meanwhile, the crows fly to the scarecrow and steal its hat and shirt, disguising themselves as a person, they then walk to Pink's stand and ask him for a cob, the upper crow eats some cobs and the lower places several ones on the shirt's pockets. Pink, finding out about this, pills out a shotgun and tries to shoot at the crows, who then try to flee but fail, and Pink drives them away with a couple of gunshots.
Later, Pink elaborates a simple trap, that being a box with a stick, and puts two cobs as bait. The crows come and, upon seeing the cobs, they run to them and apparently fall into the trap. Pink goes to check, but suddenly hears hammering inside the box, surprised by this, he lifts the box, and finds out that the crows have somehow built a car, and he gets run over by them.
Sometime later, Pink paints some action-delayed grenades yellow, making them look like corncobs, he places the grenades around the cornfield and goes back to the stand as the crows, hiding on a hay bale approach to the cornfield, they take the grenades, mistaking them for corncobs, and run away, but the grenades explode on them, blowing their cover and even some of their plummage.
Pink later uses a war weapon near the cornfield, with the crows setting a base on a mountain, one of them orders the other to get the cobs from the cornfield, and the other complies, the crow then flies to the cornfield and gets several corncobs even avoiding Pink's shots from the weapon. As a result, Pink gets some cement and bricks, and builds a brick wall on the cornfield. The crow flies back down to the cornfield to get more cobs, but crashes with the wall and some of the bricks fall on the crow.
Later, Pink is back at the stand, and notices the crows, now severely injured because of the battle, leaving the cornfield. Feeling that he took extreme measures of protecting the cornfield which resulted on the crows ending up very crippled, Pink feels remorseful of his actions and takes the crows back to the cornfield and lets them eat the corn. One of the crows calls a huge flock of crows and all of them fly to the cornfield and eat all of it, even the scarecrow, as a result. Pink closes the stand by putting an "Out of Business" sign and leaves.
