Synopsis[]
Casually strolling downtown, Pink Panther decides to window shop along the avenue. Unfortunately, it is not one of the Panther's better days, and our hero walks inside a strange "psychedelic" shop, which is adorned by huge letters of the alphabet and managed by a short, pointy-nosed hippie. The shop contains a vending machine for lights (a cigarette lighter and Christmas tree lights) and books that "bleed" letters when damaged and are operated on as though critically injured.

Trivia[]
Released at the height of the psychedelic era, with allusions to all things far out and groovy. Even Pink Panther's lamp and chair have a late 60's design.
Censorship was a hot topic at the time, with free speech, nudity in films and theater, and more, being in the spotlight. Even Rowan and Martin's Laugh In devoted a musical number to the controversy.
The music here has a late 60's beat to it, with bongo drums and sci fi sound effects adding to the effect.
One of the few times Pink Panther smokes during the actual short, rather than only in the opening credits.
