Smile Pretty Say Pink is the 20th Pink Panther short produced in the series.

Summary[]

A wildlife photographer (Big Nose) comes to the state park to shoot some wildlife pictures, but the Pink Panther makes things difficult for him by relentlessly tormenting him with his crazy antics until karma finally catches up to the Pink Panther.

Plot[]

The episode starts with the Wildlife Photographer driving into Pinkstone National Park. Pink tries to get donations, only to be rejected, and that's when he begins tormenting and ruining the photographer's life.

He first holds the camera lens and then lets it go to fling the camera, which flings into the photographer's head and knocks him into a tree. Then, he screws with his camera when he’s taking pictures of bushes and then makes a flash nearly blind him. Pink then becomes a bush, to cause the photographer to fall off the cliff, in which Pink takes a photo of. Pink comes across flashbulbs which he apparently thinks they are eggs, he swallows them all and has the flashing bulbs cause him to hiccup every couple seconds, he nearly blinds a bear and screws up the photographer's project in the dark room, in which he throws his unsuccessfully processed photos on the ground and stomps on. Next, Pink screws with the bridge to make the photographer drive back and forth until he stops it halfway and the photographer drives into the lake. Next, Pink screws up the photographer's photo of flowers with his hand, eye and teeth, which makes him pretty upset. Pink then ruining photos of a squirrel, by going into the tree and a hedgehog, by hiding in its den. The photographer has had enough, so he gets a gun and shoots up the hole, only to be blasted out by a geyser.

The photographer then begins his enact his revenge as he sets up a photo shoot for a movie star. The Pink Panther gets ready for his photo and once he's ready, karma is about to strike. The photographer blasts him with a gun hidden within the camera and he runs off into the woods laughing maniacally, as Pink gets his comeuppance, as he’s left as a charred Panther, as one of his teeth fall out.

Trivia[]

  • This is one of the cartoons where the Pink Panther receives his comeuppance in the end.
  • This is the final Pink Panther cartoon to be scored by William Lava. After which, Walter Greene takes over as composer, but in some shorts from 1969 to 1977, bits of music from previous cartoons Lava scored would occasionally show up.
  • Remade in 1978 as Pink Pictures
