The Pink Tail Fly is the tenth short starring the Pink Panther.
Synopsis[]
After watching late-night TV, the Pink Panther has a late-night battle with a mosquito who constantly interrupts his sleep.
Plot[]
The cartoon begins as the Pink Panther was watching so many late night shows (all he did was flip through channels), the Pink Panther was ready to get to sleep. After struggling to get to sleep, he dreamt he was counting sheep and when they baa, the Pink Panther snapped out of his dream and got rid of the dream cloud (with the exception of one sheep hiding behind his pillow whom he pointed to go home).
The Pink Panther went back to sleep but then a mosquito woke him up and flew around. The Pink Panther killed it then kicked it out the front door. But the mosquito came alive again and knocked on the door, the Pink Panther foolishly opened the door but he kicked it out again and turn the key to lock the door. Now throughout the rest of the cartoon, the mosquito kept pestering the Pink Panther's sleep.
After going back to sleep, the mosquito knocked on the door and the Pink Panther pretended he wasn't home by snickering. But the mosquito turned the key and went right through the keyhole when the key fell on the floor. The Pink Panther hid under his blanket when it flew past him. After another flyby, the mosquito fell to the floor when the Pink Panther lifted a wooden board under his blanket. The mosquito next unscrewed the bolts on the chandelier underneath the Pink Panther which fell on him. The mosquito thought it was funny but the Pink Panther didn't as he hit the mosquito with the flyswatter and kicked it out of the front door again and this time using a champagne cork to block the keyhole to keep the mosquito from coming in the keyhole like last time.
The Pink Panther tried to go back to sleep but the telephone rang and when he answered it, the mosquito flew out of it and into the room. The Pink Panther tried to use pest sleeping gas to make the mosquito out cold, but the mosquito turned on the fan which made the Pink Panther out cold when he breathe in the fumes. But the Pink Panther woke up when he heard the TV on. The mosquito was watching a war movie, and when the Pink Panther came in, he and the mosquito had a big fight whether the TV should be on or off and it ended when the Pink Panther smacked the mosquito and kicked it outside again.
It started to rain when the Pink Panther went back to sleep, the mosquito tried to come in again by tapping on the window to get the Pink Panther to open the window and let him in but the Pink Panther again pretended he was not home by snickering. At that very moment, the mosquito throws a brick at the window, breaking it, waking up the Pink Panther, and flying right in the room. The Pink Panther was SUPER mad that the mosquito has disturbed his sleep once again. So he ran to his closet and put on his martial arts outfit, he found the mosquito at a table and he shouted "Hy-Sha!" but the mosquito dodged his attack and he broke his table. The mosquito flew to a piano and the Pink Panther tried again but it was the same result as before. Soon the mosquito got on to the Pink Panther's hand and flipped him over while shouting "Hy-Sha!" and so the mosquito did it again with the same results. Then, the mosquito dragged the Pink Panther to his front door and did one more final "Hy-Sha!" and kicked the Pink Panther out of his own house and into the rain, for revenge on what the Pink Panther did to him.
As the cartoon comes to a close, the mosquito was inside watching TV in the Pink Panther's bed, the Pink Panther was left out in the rain knocking on the window begging to be let back inside really regretting his decision of kicking the mosquito out of his house.
